"All the poor lost souls... I will stand for them."
Astersky wants nothing more than to see the Rogues brought into the clan for the sake of their health and eternal spirits. As an old healer, she has seen many good cats die... many of whom were Rogues. It breaks her heart that their spirits will never become part of the StarClan. Because of this, (and her interpretation of the trait of "unity"), she has taken it upon herself to bring as many Rogues as she can into the warmth of the den.
She is an avid recruiter and wanders when she can, speaking with many strangers about the joys of clan life. This has made her one of the most outspoken champions of the Rogues within the StreamClan. (Whether anyone actually listens to her is another matter...)
"I will teach them."
Aster holds an unshakable belief in the undeniability of the superiority of clan life and has trouble understanding why any cat would want to choose another way. She believes that outside Rogues just don't comprehend the value of living within a clan... after all, the poor dears just don't know there is a better way yet! She has taken it upon herself to teach them that life within the clan is good and correct and the way all cats should live. It is the humane thing to do after all...
Her teaching also extends to the members of her own clan. She considers herself an expert on the Rogue lifestyle and will correct her peers when she believes they are wrong. She will even share stories of supposed Rogue life, often accentuating their curious yet noble qualities. Through this, she hopes to show her clan that Rogues can be a valuable asset.
"I am really not as crazy as they say."
Her thoughts on the Rogues have put Astersky at odds with her own clan. Thanks to her outspoken and often abrasive outlook many have been forced to take what she says with a healthy dose of salt, if not disregard entirely. At best she is seen as an eccentric senile old molly, at worst she is seen as a meddlesome rabble-rouser actively trying to break the clan.
She is clanborn family, however, and must be tolerated... though respecting her and taking her seriously is another matter entirely.
Astersky tries not to let it bother her too much and puts forward a brash and unconcerned facade. However, it is hard not to feel lonely when held constantly at a forepaw's distance...

"The signs! They are everywhere!"
A highly superstitious cat, Astersky believes anything and everything can be a sign from the StarClan. The validity of these claims, however, is questionable (especially given her waning status with her clan).
"I won't know until I try!"
Astersky has an adventurous streak, even now at her age. She thrives on new experiences and is very willing to try anything and everything at least once.
This goes doubly for anything other cats are turning their noses up at. She will often encourage (and even bully) others into joining her, believing it is for their own good.
"Tell me a story"
Though she is very, very, chatty, she actually is a very attentive listener and greatly enjoys hearing other cat’s opinions and stories (especially if they come from Rogues). She will always sit and hear a cat out.... whether she will actually take their advice is another matter.
"I will help you."
A healer through and through, Astersky wants to see everyone succeed and thrive. She is a warm and nurturing presence and readily doles out advice and encouragement to all she knows and meets.
However, her fear of seeing others fail or get hurt tends to make her prone to smothering her loved ones in well-meaning but oppressive affection and urging.
She will also never turn down a cry for help, regardless of where it comes from. ...and even if some of those cries are her own misconceptions.

Backstory

Asterkit
Asterkit was one of 4 kits born to Heronstrike and Burldown. Both lines of her family are noble and respected lineages within the StreamClan, claiming to trace their roots back to before Mothstar became leader.
As a kit, she was a curious and headstrong kit, constantly asking questions of those around her. She even ventured out of the camp a couple of times to the horror of her mother and father.

Asterpaw
When she came of age, Asterpaw was mentored by Henfeather, a warm and encouraging healer who patiently bore with his apprentice's incessant questioning. She learned warmth and compassion from him, as well as all the skills and herbs necessary for her work.
Her favorite activity was patrolling the border because of the freedom and exploration it allowed. On occasion, she and her mentor would encounter a Rogue. Henfeather was an amiable cat, and not opposed to lending a paw to others outside of the clan... so long as it didn't get him into trouble. He would often speak with friendly strangers exchanging news.

Astersky
Astersky reveled in her freedom as a warrior. She settled easily into her life as a healer. Just as it was when she was an apprentice, her favorite task was watching the borders. Here she would freely talk with any stranger who would listen and became familiar with many of the local Rogues.
Her curiosity would wind up with her getting caught by twolegs and presumed lost. A few days later she was returned confused, disoriented and with her ear clipped. She remembers very little of her experience save for bright lights, terrible smells, and fear. Over the course of the next few moons, she gradually and inexplicably lost all desire to find a mate or start a family afterward.
As a warrior, she was prone to bringing pregnant mothers and young kits into the camp, under the protection of the code. Sadly, some would not survive. It was these deaths that would become a cornerstone of Astersky's desire to see Rogues integrated into the clan. She grew weary of bearing witness to family members who would never see each other within the StarClan.
When Whitepoppy was accepted into the clan, Astersky was elated and started trying to bring as many rogues as she could into the clan. She would patiently teach new Rogues the ways of clan life and has mentored many across many ages.
She is one of the strongest and most outspoken supporters of the Rogues, despite the drought, believing that they are not responsible. This attitude has caused her to lose favor among her peers.
